While UPS bases a lot of their business on information technology, brand diversification within the UPS family is also a great thing. They have many brands in the shipping realm, stemming from UPS Ground, and evolving into more specialized products such as UPS Air, UPS Freight, and even The UPS Store (which was conceived when the company purchased “Mailboxes Etc” and turned most of them into UPS branded storefronts). UPS brands also include their small business and supply chain solutions.
Helping vendors such as shoe companies, a pet food company, and even Dell computers package and ship their product has been key to UPS’ multi-branded success. As a company, UPS delivers; they treat their employees the right way, they generate large amounts of revenue, they have excellent profit margins, and they are always on the cusp of innovation within the shipping and transportation industry.
