The smartpen is a computer, available in either one gigabyte, two gigabyte or four gigabyte versions, in a compact size no bigger then a dry erase marker. It is activated by tapping certain functions on special paper that comes with the pen, when you take notes, it digitally records everything that you are writing and the accompanying audio in the room. The smartpen will provide you with the full transcription of a lecture.

You can tap the pen on any part of your notes at anytime and it will replay the audio that was going on at the exact moment you wrote that note. You can fast forward, rewind, speed up, slow down – you are in complete control!

When you get back to your computer, simply set the pen in its docking station cradle and download the notes and audio, all perfectly synced, to your hard drive. Next you can search your notes for keywords which is a very useful feature. You are also able to share your notes online with classmates or other interested parties, or archive them.
